世卫：Omicron 蔓延之快前所未见 应迅速行动
世界卫生组织（ WHO ）今天表示，COVID-19 变异株 Omicron 正以前所未见的速度蔓延，各国应迅速采取行动，遏止病毒传播，并保护自身的医疗卫生体系。
世卫组织秘书长谭德塞（ Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus ）告诉记者，自从上月 Omicron 在非洲南部现踪以来，已有77个国家通报境内出现这支新的、高度突变的 COVID-19（2019冠状病毒疾病）变异株。

但他强调：「现实情况是，Omicron 可能已存在于多数国家，只是还没有被发现而已。」
他说：「Omicron 正以我们过去未曾在其他变异株上看到的速度蔓延。」

同时，WHO 专家马哈穆德（ Abdi Mahamud ）在记者会上表示，欧洲一些地方已开始对抗第5波疫情，由模型可以看出，Omicron 可能会在几天内就变成欧洲部分国家最主流的变异株。
愈来愈多证据显示，Omicron 可能比先前的几种变异株更易突破疫苗产生的保护力。
美国辉瑞大药厂（ Pfizer ）今天公布的一项研究显示，接种两剂辉瑞疫苗可获得约70%的保护力，让感染Omicron 的人免于变成重症患者；相较之下，两剂疫苗针对感染先前几种变异株的人，可提供93%的保护力，让患者免于重症。
